A new Instagram update will show the Reels you like to your followers, according to an announcement by Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram.
Mosseri explained that the purpose of Meta’s social network is to generate more interactions beyond individual profiles, including friends among the different content consumed on the platform.
After the announcement, users started comparing the idea to the old “Activity” tab, which was heavily criticized for unwanted exposure and was deactivated by the platform in 2019. The new feature is already available in the United States and will roll out to other countries soon.
“If TikTok showed likes like Reels, I’d be in trouble, man,” admitted one user. “It’s 2025, hold your likes like a real man,” joked another.
“The dumbest thing ever. I don’t think these clowns have ever heard of privacy invasion?”, a third user commented. “If it’s not broken, don’t fix it,” warned a fourth.
